Ripe with historical insight, this work reminds us how much of our national identity has been shaped by these historic sites. I enjoyed this book. I found the background material about each site and the surrounding areas very interesting. Even though I am not well traveled, I noted that I had actually been to a great many of these places. Most fascinating to me is how I didn't even know it at the time. Had I read this book prior, I would have paid more attention. My main takeaway from his education book is that there is so much history and interesting places all around us and I wasn't even aware of it. I am much more aware now and I will drive a couple of more miles and get out of the car in the future.
It's an Historical tour as opposed to "touristy" attractions. Mr. Glass made this reading delightful!
A nice summary of many places I've been, and many I haven't. Sort of a travel guide summary of 50 places. Great historical backgrounds about each. But hardly as wonderful as Dave McCullough lead me to believe...and I adore his books.
Quick Ship, As Promised. Book is fantastic, so much to see in the good ole USA.Will do business again.
Gave to history teacher as a gift. She loves it.
Helps plan vacations and places to visit.
Book in great shape. Very interesting. We received it just before setting out on a drive cross country and found it to be a great companion to the drive.
Inexpensive, easy to assemble and comfortable
