I was introduced to the books by Donald M. Murray through the books of Roy Peter Clark. Donald Murray was well-loved and influenced many through his books and writing seminars. He died on December 30, 2006. "Writing for Your Readers" is for journalists. Although I am not a journalist, I still gained from this book. Murray offers helpful tips on writing in general. I hope the following excerpt from Murray's introduction to "Writing for Your Readers" will help those considering buying the book."What the writer does can best be understood and therefore learned by examining the writing process. This book, which explores the process that produces accurate, graceful writing, is distilled from newsletters written for the editorial staff of the Boston Globe while I served two hitches as writing coach.
